Lions vs. Packers score update: Detroit thankful to have not given away the game yet

Despite three turnovers early, the Lions still hold the lead at halftime on Thanksgiving.

The Detroit Lions were lucky to avoid having to face Aaron Rodgers this Thanksgiving, but they have still given the Green Bay Packers every opportunity to win Thursday's game anyway. Luckily for them, replacement Matt Flynn has not been able to do anything to take advantage of the Lions' mistakes.

Despite three turnovers by Detroit, the Lions lead the Packers 17-10 at halftime.

Lions running back Reggie Bush fumbled in the Green Bay end zone early in the game and quarterback Matthew Stafford already has an interception and a fumble lost that was returned for a touchdown, but the Packers offense has done almost nothing through two quarters. With Rodgers sidelined for his fourth game in a row, Green Bay has just 43 total yards.

Flynn is 3-of-8 for 45 yards and has been sacked three times, while running back Eddie Lacy has just 13 yards on seven carries.

Bush was able to atone for his early giveaway by rushing for a touchdown in the second quarter that gave his team the lead, and he already has 84 rushing yards and 48 receiving yards at half. That puts the veteran running back at 1,252 total yards from scrimmage this season, which is 130 yards shy of his career-high in that category.

The Lions won a wild game earlier this season against the Dallas Cowboys, 31-30, in which they turned the ball over three times and had no takeaways. Only Detroit and the Seattle Seahawks have won a game this season while doing that, but right now that's how the Lions currently stand against the Packers with a seven-point lead at halftime.

Can they hold it for the second half and come away thankful to still be in first place in the NFC North, or does Flynn have some better football in him? If not, backup Scott Tolzien might also get to eat today.
