Rashad Jennings injury: Raiders RB leaves game with head injury

A late hit to the head has knocked Raiders running back Rashad Jennings out of Oakland’s game against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving.

The Raiders will likely have to go back to Darren McFadden, after running back Rashad Jennings suffered a head injury late into the fourth quarter of Oakland's game against the Cowboys in Dallas. Jennings had finished a run attempt late in the game when Cowboys safety Jeff Heath's momentum forced the rookie to knee the running back in the back of head while the veteran was on the ground. Jennings lay motionless for several seconds following the blow.

Heath was not flagged for the late hit that was obviously incidental. Jennings was immediately looked at on the field and was taken to the locker room shortly after the examination. Darren McFadden handled the rest of the running back responsibilities on the drive, which ended in a Raiders field goal. McFadden lost his starting job to Jennings due to the latter’s performance while the Arkansas alum was sidelined with an injury.

Jennings did not return to the game. The Cowboys won the game by a score of 31-24.
