Eagles vs. Raiders 2013: Philadelphia fans once again excited about Chip Kelly

Kelly’s offense reached new heights on Sunday against the Raiders.

The Philadelphia Eagles destroyed the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, finishing with a 49-20 win and leaving each team with vastly different feelings about their respective head coaches.

The folks over at Bleeding Green Nation were excited about how Chip Kelly's offense looked, particularly the fact that Nick Foles threw for seven touchdowns. Eagles fans are trying not to get carried away.

Before getting carried away, remember to keep things in perspective. This team, to an extent, is still a work in progress. Every week won’t be as successful as this one. Having patience with Kelly is crucial as he works to transform this roster into his ideal mold. But for now, it’s more than OK to revel in the potential this Eagles franchise has with Chip Kelly at the reigns. Performances like the Eagles win over the Raiders make you think there’s just something special here.

Raiders fans, meanwhile, were left wondering if Dennis Allen is the right man to lead Oakland out of the wasteland. The Raiders have been up and down this season, and Sunday was a new low for Oakland.

Here’s what Silver and Black Pride had to say:

Here’s my point: now is the time for Oakland to ask themselves if Allen is the right guy for the future.

He’s had his high points this season, with an inspired performance by a team no one expected to be any good. Unfortunately, he’s also had his low points: getting blown out at home and turning Nick Foles into Dan Marino, making us wonder just how far this team has really come.
