Aaron Rodgers suffers fractured collarbone, according to report

Green Bay is not getting the type of news it wanted, with word coming down that Rodgers has a crack in his collarbone.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a fractured collarbone, according to Adam Schefter.

The Packers do not want to be hasty in their determinations until Rodgers has some more testing done, per Schefter, but if the initial diagnosis is true Rodgers is likely out for three weeks. In those weeks, the Packers will play the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings.

Rodgers was hurt against the Chicago Bears on Monday night, when defensive end Shea McClellin chased him down on a scramble and put him down hard on his left shoulder.

This injury could shift the balance of the NFC North, with the Packers, Detroit Lions and Bears currently tied for first at 5-3. Without Rodgers in the lineup, the Packers turned to veteran Seneca Wallace, who completed 11 of 19 attempts for 114 yards, no touchdowns and one interception. He was the only other active quarterback on the roster Monday night.

With Matt Flynn having been cut by the Buffalo Bills on Monday, perhaps he is an option to be brought in short-term. Flynn was drafted originally by Green Bay in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft and had one of he best games of all-time in 2011, throwing six touchdowns in the regular season finale versus the Lions.
