RGIII has played the final game of his sophomore season, as the Washington Redskins have announced that the quarterback will be shut down for the remainder of the year. Welker's status is no surprise. The veteran wide receiver was ruled out on Wednesday with a concussion he sustained in Week 14, and it's unclear if he'll be able to return to action against the Houston Texans in Week 16. His concussion was the second he's sustained in 2013, and it's likely the team will lean on Eric Decker in his absence.
The San Diego Chargers caught a break with news Eddie Royal would be able to play on Thursday. He was listed as "questionable" during practice due to a toe injury, but will be able to play. Breakout rookie Keenan Allen will also play after sustaining a shoulder injury, representing a test for the bruised Broncos' secondary.
