Mike Shanahan's already miniscule chances of staying with the Washington Redskins took another shot on Sunday when his team fell 27-26 to the Atlanta Falcons, and afterwards the embattled coach was in no mood to talk about his future.

A frustrated Shanahan wasn’t in a conversational mood following the Redskins’ 27-26 loss to the Falcons.
A terse press conference that saw the coach alternate between frustration, humor and digs at team owner Dan Snyder ended prematurely when an exasperated Shanahan inexplicably walked away from the podium. The last straw was a question about the increasingly frequent reports about his damaged relationship with franchise quarterback Robert Griffin III and Snyder, and was preceded by his insistence that he would only answer questions that pertained directly to football.

PFT Commenter celebrates RGIII's accomplishments this season by putting him on the hot seat. "I'm tired of talking about the job," Shanahan said shortly before exiting. "If you want to talk about this game or if you want to talk about Dallas or if you want to talk about the Giants, that's great. We're a football team and I'd sure like to concentrate on that."
Shanahan was somewhat vindicated during the loss by the strong play of Kirk Cousins, who he started in place of Griffin. He threw for 381 yards and three touchdowns, but had three costly turnovers.
“Overall, I thought he did a good job during the game,” Shanahan said of Cousins.
Cousins led the team down for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to pull within one point. Shanahan, showing his nothing-to-lose position, elected to go for two instead of kicking the game-tying PAT. The attempt was no good.
