NFC East injury report, Week 15: Bruised Giants offense takes hit
New York could close out a disappointing season without two key offensive weapons.
Victor Cruz sustained a concussion in the Giants' shutout loss to Seattle, and it appears his season is over. Head coach Tom Coughlin didn't have an update on his status on Monday. New York has been eliminated from the playoffs in 2013, and it makes little sense to play Cruz in the remaining two games. If he is unable to play again this year it will be the first time in three years Cruz will not reach 1,000 yards.
Cruz wasn't the only member of the Giants to suffer a concussion. Running back Peyton Hillis was also injured against the Seahawks in Week 15. There is no official update on his status right now, but in order to play in Week 16 he will need to pass the league's post-concussion protocol.
The Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles both escaped Week 15 without serious injuries. Chip Kelly's team is poised to make the playoffs and win the NFC East thanks to the Cowboys' collapse.
Life will be more difficult for Dallas as the Cowboys try to rebound without Justin Durant. He left the game against Green Bay with a hamstring injury, just after returning from a similar injury. There is no update on his status at this time, but it could be a serious loss.
