Lions score on opening possession for just 2nd time this season.

Detroit got off to a good start on Monday night against Baltimore, driving 78 yards on the opening possession for a touchdown. It was just the second time the Lions came away with points on their first possession this season.

The drive was aided by a pair of third down conversions. Matt Stafford hit Joique Bell out of the backfield for 23 yards to convert a 3rd-and-7 on the fourth play of the game. It appeared Detroit was going to come up short on a third down later in the drive when Stafford scrambled short of the first down. The Ravens were flagged for unnecessary roughgness, however, for hitting Stafford in the head as he slid.

Detroit capitalized two plays later when Reggie Bush got the edge on a run and scampered into the endzone for a 14-yard touchdown. Baltimore's Terrell Suggs lost contain on the outside, allowing Bush to get the edge. It was the first opening-possession score since the Lions scored on their first drive against Chicago in Week 10.
