The veteran cornerback has decided to stay in his rocking chair instead of returning for some more action.

There had been rumors and speculation that Winfield would come out of retirement to join the Seattle Seahawks for the stretch run, but it appears those thoughts have come to an end. Seattle is in need of some secondary help with Brandon Browner being suspended for a year after failing his third drug test.
Winfield had a terrific career during his time with the Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings from 1999-2012. Winfield played in some of the most memorable games in NFL history including the Music City Miracle and the 2008 NFC Championship game between his Vikings and the New Orleans Saints.
Winfield was far from washed up when he decided to step away. Last season, Winfield amassed 101 tackles and three interceptions, only the second time he eclipsed the century mark for tackles in his career. He walks away with 27 interceptions to his credit.
