Bears vs. Eagles score update: Philadelphia leads Chicago 24-3 at halftime

The Eagles took a fast 24-0 lead over the Bears and the game is already getting out of hand at halftime.

The Philadelphia Eagles punched the Chicago Bears in the throat early on, taking a big 24-3 lead into halftime.

Chicago's defense has been a major concern all season, and they had no answer for Chip Kelly and Nick Foles early on. Foles hit Riley Cooper and Brent Celek for two scores, and a kickoff fumble by Devin Hester led to a goal-line touchdown by LeSean McCoy. Alex Hinery added a field goal at the end of the half to pad the lead. Robbie Gould hit a 50-yarder as time expired to give the Bears a sliver of hope heading into the locker room.

Foles has been surgical so far, completing 14-of-17 passes for 145 yards, two touchdowns and 8.5 yards per attempt. McCoy is predictably gashing the Bears’ league-worst run defense to the tune of 64 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.

Compounding issues for the Bears is a surprisingly anemic offense. They were held to just 124 total yards and forced to punt four times. Chicago seemed to have finally woken up in the second quarter and drove into Eagles territory, but Jay Cutler took two sacks that put them out of field goal range. With such a big early deficit, the Bears have appeared to abandon the run game already -- Matt Forte has just four carries for 8 yards.

The Bears entered this game needing a win to stay in first place, but unless a miracle happens in the second half, they will enter a "win or go home" contest with the Packers in Week 17.
