Mike Shanahan told reporters on Monday that he is "sure it will" be a quick decision made by owner Dan Snyder about his future as the head coach of the Washington Redskins after the team's season finale against the Giants on Sunday.

A decision about the future of Mike Shanahan with the Redskins isn’t expected to take long for owner Dan Snyder.

Shanahan is in his fourth season as head coach of the Redskins, but a seven-game losing streak and reports of disagreements between the coach and Snyder have made his firing seem like the probable conclusion to the season. Earlier in December, there were reports that Snyder was exploring his options for an impending split with Shanahan.
After 11 combined wins in Shanahan's first two seasons with the Redskins, the selection of Robert Griffin III in the 2013 NFL Draft paid off for the team with a 10-6 season and a trip to the postseason. However, Griffin's play dropped off significantly in 2013 after he suffered ACL and LCL tears in the first round of the playoffs in 2012.
Previously to 2013, Shanahan's worst season in his career as a head coach was a 5-11 season with the Redskins, but he has clinched his worst ever season with a 3-12 record through 15 games. He previously served as head coach of the Denver Broncos for 14 seasons.
