With the Vikings set to finish off a disappointing season, Frazier told his player that he doesn’t want his job status to be a distraction.

The Vikings are set to close out a disappointing season against the Detroit Lions. Minnesota is 4-10-1, just one season removed from a 10-6 record and playoff appearance. Frazier talked to his players about a Tuesday report that stated he won't return in 2014, and said he just wants them to focus on the task ahead instead of thinking about the hot seat.
“I thought about that a week ago because there were some reports out there and I didn’t really talk to our guys about it, but this morning in our team meeting I felt like I needed to address it with our players,” Frazier said on a conference call with Detroit reporters. “I want them to just concentrate on their jobs, not to be worried about the coach or what’s going on with me. They need to concentrate on this game, this game plan and not let that become a distraction.
“I felt like last week when I didn’t address it, it did become a distraction, and I don’t want it to be.”
The Vikings aren't the only team facing an uncertain coaching situation this week. Their opponent, Detroit, also has a coach on the hot seat. Jim Schwartz's team is 7-8 and choked away a potential NFC North title after losing five of their last six games. They were officially eliminated from playoff contention last week with an overtime loss to the New York Giants.
