Soon-to-be head coach Lovie Smith is already putting his staff together for his next stop, even if it’s unclear which city he will land in.
Lovie Smith could add Jeff Tedford to potential NFL staff
A staff is already being formed, now it’s time to find a team.

Former University of California head coach Jeff Tedford is set to join Smith as his offensive coordinator -- wherever he might accept a job, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Reports have linked Smith to the Houston Texans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but there is no clear indication where he might accept a job.
The move to the NFL would be a first for Tedford, who previously coached in the CFL before joining the college ranks in 1992. He made stops at Fresno State and Oregon before coaching California to a 82-57 record in 11 seasons as head coach.
Smith hiring Tedford so quickly indicates a strong desire to gain a reliable right hand to manage his team's offense. The Chicago Bears flourished under Smith defensively, but were routinely let down by middling offense play and poor quarterbacks. The teams currently searching for head coaches will all have top picks to potentially find a franchise passer, making Smith's eventual landing spot more intriguing.
