Dennis Allen, Reggie McKenzie get Raiders vote of confidence

Oakland doesn’t appear to be cleaning house after another pathetic season.

Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen and general manager Reggie McKenzie have been given a vote of confidence by owner Mark Davis, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

The Raiders are coming off their second consecutive 4-12 campaign under the leadership of Allen and McKenzie, but the early struggles were somewhat expected. Oakland had been in the midst of some major salary cap issues and had to gut the team, losing important players from both sides of the ball including Tommie Kelly, Richard Seymour, Michael Huff, and Michael Bush.

This offseason will be crucial for both Allen and McKenzie, who for the first time will have ample money to improve the team in free agency. The Raiders also hold a very high pick, 5th overall, in a class thought to be loaded with quarterback prospects.

Without question, Oakland will be looking for a signal-caller after watching Terrelle Pryor and Matt McGloin suffer through the 2013 season. Combined, the duo threw for 15 touchdowns and 19 interceptions, with both completing under 58 percent of their passes.
