Redskins coaching rumors: Darrell Bevell a reported target
Washington needs to fill its vacancy, and sees Bevell as a potential candidate.

The Washington Redskins fired head coach Mike Shanahan on Monday morning, a move much anticipated for months.
Now, they are on the search for their next leader of men, and are intrigued by Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, according to Ian Rapoport. Bevell has been with Seattle in his current role for the past three seasons.
The 43-year-old has been coaching in the NFL since 2000, breaking in with the Green Bay Packers as an offensive assistant for three years. Bevell then became Brett Favre's quarterback coach from 2003-05, a job that certainly can't hurt the résumé.
From 2006-10, Bevell moved on to become the Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator, almost reaching the Super Bowl after being reunited with Favre in 2008. After Brad Childress was fired in Minnesota after the 2010 season, Bevell was not retained by Leslie Frazier and moved onto Seattle, joining Pete Carroll.
