Texas Tech tight end Jace Amaro has done what many expected would happen, and declared for the 2014 NFL Draft, according to Rich Cirminiello.

Amaro is thought to be one of the top tight end prospects coming into this year's draft, along with North Carolina's Eric Ebron. This season, Amaro was incredibly productive despite playing on an average Red Raiders team, hauling in 106 receptions for 1,352 yards and seven touchdowns.
Amaro’s banner season came from out of nowhere. The former four-star recruit had been solid in 2012, catching 25 passes for 409 yards, but certainly not earth-shattering. Now, Amaro appears in line to be a high draft pick, coveted as a pass-catcher who has terrific size at 6’5” and 260 pounds.
Of course, the NFL has gone wild for tight ends over the past few years. The New England Patriots started the trend with Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez, followed by teams such as the New Orleans Saints with superstar Jimmy Graham.
