There's a lot of speculation surrounding the Cleveland Browns and their quarterback position. It was previously reported that both Brandon Weeden and Colt McCoy could be traded if the Browns get the right offer, though the organization presently doesn't have anyone to replace either.
Browns CEO says Brandon Weeden will be given ‘best chance to succeed’
The Cleveland Browns say that quarterback Brandon Weeden will be given the “best chance to succeed” in 2013.

It's been widely thought that the new regime is dissatisfied with the selection of Weeden in the first round of last year's draft, but according to CEO Joe Banner, Weeden will still get an opportunity to prove he's worth keeping around in 2013.
According to the Akron Beacon Journal, Banner said they “see potential there we want to work with” in Weeden and that they’re going to give Weeden “his best chance to succeed.”
Weeden won a very short and very questionable battle over McCoy and started 15 games as a rookie in 2012. He threw for 3,385 yards and 14 touchdowns, but he had 17 interceptions and his completion percentage was just 57.4. On top of that, he had three fumbles and a quarterback rating of 72.6.
One of the biggest negatives regarding Weeden is his age, as he will be a second-year player in 2013 but will turn 30 in October of this year. The Browns spent a first-round pick on him in 2012, which many have stated was a move out of desperation.
Banner also happened to give one of the best non-answers in the history of non-answers, as he navigated himself around this wordy statement:
“I will not lie to anybody here,” Banner said. “I will not mislead you. I may not answer you. I may be incomplete in my answer. So I’m not telling you we would or wouldn’t pick a quarterback in the first round or the second round. I’m just not doing that. But I’m also kind of I think implying that that’s not what I expect to have happen. I just don’t play that game.”
It's really anybody's guess as to what actually happens with Cleveland's quarterback position in 2013. They will roll with one of Weeden or McCoy, or perhaps they'll trade for a guy like Alex Smith from the San Francisco 49ers, or they might even draft someone at the No. 6 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
At the very least, the team seems satisfied with Trent Richardson, who was the team's other first-round pick last year. Richardson rushed for 950 yards with 11 touchdowns in 2012, and appears to be the primary weapon of the Cleveland offense going forward. Still, they definitely need a quarterback.
