Miami (Ohio) University has a history of producing excellent football coaches and after winning the Super Bowl, Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh will join some of the other famed Miami coaches as an inductee into the Cradle of Coaches association.
John Harbaugh will be honored by statue at alma mater
After winning the Super Bowl, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh will now be honored with a life-size statue at his alma mater.

As part of the induction, the university will constrict a life-sized bronze statue of Harbaugh and place it with the others outside of the school’s football stadium. Harbaugh’s statue will join those of Paul Brown, Bo Schembechler, Weeb Ewbank, Ara Parseghian, Earl Blaik, Carm Cozza, Paul Dietzel and John Point in the Cradle of Coaches association. Harbaugh didn’t take the honor lightly.
“To me, there is no greater recognition in coaching,” Harbaugh said. “To be included with these great men is something only dreamed about.”
Cradle of Coaches statues are constructed for Miami graduates who have been named college of NFL coach of the year, won a national championship or Super Bowl or were inducted into the college of pro football halls of fame. The statue of Harbaugh is expected to be finished by early next year.
