Jumping on an overthrown pass by Colin Kaepernick, Reed took advantage as he lept on the deep ball intended for wide receiver Randy Moss. He only had a short return, while both teams began fighting. It was a staunch difference from the first quarter, where Reed was forced from the field following a tackle on tight end Vernon Davis. He went to the locker room with an assumed knee injury, but returned and made his mark on the Super Bowl almost immediately.
It remains to be seen how many more seasons Ed Reed may play, but tying the post-season record for interceptions could cap off a sensational career for the Ravens free safety. Overshadowed in much of the pre-game attention on Ray Lewis, it's possible that Reed too could be hanging it up after Sunday's game.
