The Ravens traded Anquan Boldin to the 49ers on Monday, just a few weeks after Boldin helped Baltimore beat San Francisco in the Super Bowl.

Joe RobbinsAmendola, though a different type of receiver, could be an option for the Ravens. Then again, the slot receiver might be asking for more money than the Ravens are willing to offer -- especially since Amendola has been riddled with injuries in recent years.
Still, Amendola could provide the Ravens with a dangerous weapon out of the slot. Amendola caught 63 passes in 11 games in 2012, with 666 yards and three touchdowns. Amendola led the NFL in all purpose yards in 2010, with 689 reception yards (on 85 receptions), 452 punt return yards and 1,142 kickoff return yards.

Patrick SmithIt’s easy to understand Smith’s frustration, as Boldin was an integral member of Baltimore’s Super Bowl run that wrapped up just over a month ago. Smith likely benefited from Boldin’s experience to help become a better wide receiver, and also likely benefited from other defenses paying attention to Boldin on the field -- freeing up Smith.
Smith is still two seasons away from restricted free agency himself, and the Ravens could find themselves needing to make a similar business decision in two years with Smith.

Scott HalleranAs for the wide receiver market, the Boldin deal isn’t likely to drive down the price of many players available by trade or in free agency. Boldin is older than most players on the market and with the Ravens likely to release Boldin in the coming days, Baltimore had very little leverage in trade discussions.
