Titans sign Andy Levitre, according to report

Tennessee added a major piece on Tuesday, signing arguably the best guard on the free-agent market.

The Tennessee Titans made a big splash in the free-agent market on Tuesday, agreeing to a five-year deal with guard Andy Levitre, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter.

According to the report, the five-year deal is worth $39 million, making Levitre one of the highest-paid guards in the NFL. The 26-year-old Levitre was widely considered to be the top guard available and has graded out as one of the best guards in the NFL in recent seasons. He's also proved to be durable, starting all 64 games for the Bills since joining the league in 2009.

Levitre was thought to be Tennesee’s No. 1 free-agent target. The deal will be a blow to Buffalo’s offensive line. The Bills drafted Levitre in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft. In Tennessee, Levitre will bolster the Titans offensive line. The signing could also be a big boost for running back Chris Johnson, who may now find some additional room to run, operating behind one of the best guards in the NFL.
