After struggling to find a right tackle last season, the Colts shored up a primary weakness on the first day of free agency, agreeing to a deal with former Detroit right tackle Gosder Cherilus, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Colts bolstered their offensive line on the first day of free agency, agreeing to a deal with right tackle Gosder Cherilus.
The Colts rotated Winston Justice and Jeff Linkenbach at right tackle last season, but Cherilus should provide a significant upgrade. After a rough start to his career, Cherilus developed into one of the best right tackles in the NFL. The 28 year old spent the first five seasons of his career with the Lions, starting 71 games.
The former first-round pick graded as the eighth best tackle in the NFL last season, according to Pro Football Focus. Cherilus was considered to be one of the top right tackles on the market along with Andre Smith, Phil Loadholt and Sebastian Vollmer. Loadholt agreed to a deal prior to the start of free agency, taking one option off the market.
Cherilus could be the first of many moves for the Colts, as Indianapolis is rumored to be nearing deals with several free agents.
