Delanie Walker signed by Titans, according to report

The Tennessee Titans and free-agent tight end Delanie Walker have agreed to a four-year deal.

The Tennessee Titans continue to be one of the most active teams early in free agency, signing tight end Delanie Walker to a four-year contract, according to Adam Schefter. Schefter reports the contract is a four-year deal for $17.5 million with $8.6 million guaranteed. This comes on the heels of the Titans reportedly signing offensive guard Andy Levitre earlier on Tuesday.

Walker will replace Jared Cook, who is a free agent himself. Early rumors were that the Titans would franchise Cook, but they opted to let him test the open market and have signed Walker as his replacement. Walker spent the first seven seasons of his NFL career with the 49ers, serving primarily as the backup for Vernon Davis.

Walker isn't the receiving threat that Cook was, but is a solid all-around tight end; capable as a receiver and an excellent blocker. Last season he caught 21 passes for 344 yards and three touchdowns. The Titans will likely use both Walker and Taylor Thompson throughout the season and could part with blocking tight end Craig Stevens.
