NFL free agency rumors: Aaron Ross to sign with New York Giants

Aaron Ross is returning to the New York Giants, according to a USA Today report.

Aaron Ross is headed back to where he started in the NFL -- New York. Ross will re-sign with the New York Giants after spending a year with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to USA Today's Mike Garafolo.

New York selected Ross with the No. 20 overall pick of the 2007 NFL Draft, out of the University of Texas. Ross played for the Giants between 2007-2011, and was a member of New York's two Super Bowl champion teams.

Ross left following the 2011 season, signing a three-year deal with the Jaguars worth over $15 million in March 2012. Ross was released by the Jaguars last week, and the former Longhorns cornerback quickly latched on with the Giants -- again.

After intercepting four passes in 2011 for the Giants, Ross failed to intercept a pass in 2012 for the Jaguars. Ross played poorly for the Jaguars, and was eventually benched in Week 13 -- and did not start again for Jacksonville.

Ross figures to serve as defensive backfield depth for New York in 2013.
