Glenn Dorsey visiting the 49ers, according to report

Coming off a season-ending injury, Glenn Dorsey will take a free agent visit to San Francisco. The former No. 5 overall pick could be a bargain for the NFC Champions.

The San Francisco 49ers aren't expected to be among the bigger players in free agency, but San Francisco is lining up moves. In one of their first moves of the free agency period, the 49ers are bringing free agent defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey in for a visit, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Dorsey was limited to four games last year as he landed on injured reserve with a calf injury. If healthy, Dorsey could provide depth at nose tackle for the 49ers. Dorsey comes with a high pedigree as he was the No. 5 overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. He failed to live up to expectations, however, posting just 4.0 sacks in five seasons in Kansas City.

A return to Kansas City is also an option for Dorsey as last week Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported Dorsey was “likely” to return to Kansas City. Prior to last season, Dorsey had proven to be durable, starting 61 out of a possible 64 games during the first four years of his career.
