LaRon Landry signs 4-year deal with Colts

The Colts continued to be active in free agency, adding LaRon Landry late Wednesday night.

The Indianapolis Colts signed free agent safety LaRon Landry on Wednesday, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. The Colts confirmed the signing later on Wednesday evening.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Landry and the Colts agreed to a four-year deal worth $24 million, with $14 million guaranteed. The deal is very similar to the contract William Moore signed with Atlanta prior to the start of free agency. The 28-year-old Landry is coming off his first Pro Bowl appearance.

After five seasons with the Washington Redskins, Landry signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets in 2012 in an attempt to re-establish his value after two injury-played years with the Redskins. That move paid off, as a year later Landry was able to sign a lucrative long-term deal.

Landry started 15 games for the Jets last season, finishing with a career-high 100 total tackles. He also recorded eight pass deflections while intercepting two passes. Known as one of the biggest hitters in the NFL, Landry forced four fumbles last season.

The addition of Landry is just the latest move for Indianapolis, which has been one of the busiest teams in free agency. The Colts already added linebacker Erik Walden, cornerback Greg Toler, guard Donald Thomas, defensive end Lawrence Sidbury and right tackle Gosder Cherilus.
