Patriots will host WR Donald Jones on Thursday, according to report

A day after losing Wes Welker and signing Danny Amendola, the Patriots are not done with receivers as Donald Jones is set to visit on Thursday.

The Patriots are taking a look at another receiver as Donald Jones is visiting New England on Thursday, according to the Buffalo News' Tim Graham. On Wednesday, the Patriots saw Wes Welker sign with the Broncos and quickly countered by signing Danny Amendola to a five-year deal.

Receivers Julian Edelman, Deion Branch and Donte Stallworth are all free agents. Of the three, Edelman is the only one the Patriots are expected to consider re-signing this offseason. This means New England will need to add depth at outside receiver.

Jones spent his first three years with the Buffalo Bills and could provide an economical option for the Patriots. Last year Jones had his best season with 41 receptions for 443 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games (10 as a starter). Jones was at his best against the Pats, with eight receptions for 164 yards and two touchdowns in two games against New England last year. Over his three years he has totaled 82 receptions for 887 yards and six touchdowns, but he has missed 13 games, raising concerns about his durability.
