Ricky Jean-Francois, Colts agree on 4-year contract, according to report

The Colts remain one of the most active teams in free agency, signing defensive lineman Ricky Jean-Francois.

The Indianapolis Colts' barrage of free agent signings continues, as they agreed to a four-year contract with defensive lineman Ricky Jean-Francois on Thursday, according to Jason La Canfora. The deal is reported to be for $22 million.

Jean-Francois spent his first four seasons with the 49ers, totaling 22 tackles and two sacks last year as a backup lineman. He has improved his production each year since being drafted in 2009. At 6'3, 295 pounds, Jean-Francois will likely be used as a defensive end in the Colts' 3-4 base defense.

Indianapolis continues to add solid players in free agency rather than break the bank for big star contracts. The Colts addressed their secondary earlier and now are working on beefing up their defensive line. Jean-Francois has a connection with the Indy coaching staff, as defensive coordinator Greg Manusky was in San Francisco with the 49ers when they drafted Jean-Francois.
