NFL free agent list 2013: Ed Reed, Greg Jennings still on market

Some of this season's biggest-name free agents have already been signed in the first three days of the new league year. Wes Welker, Steven Jackson, Cliff Avril, Mike Wallace and Dashon Goldson are some of the guys that have found new homes and signed new, multi-million contracts.

The biggest name may be cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, who is an unrestricted free agent after being released from the Eagles. He didn't quite perform at the level of the huge contract he signed with Philadelphia, but he's still likely the most talented cornerback on the market and could revitalize his career elsewhere.

Former Packer Greg Jennings is the best wide receiver left on the market, as well. Jennings struggled through the 2012 season with a groin injury that could leave teams somewhat nervous about signing him to a large contract, but if he's healthy, he can do a lot of good for a struggling offense. He was being dined by the Vikings on Thursday night.

Some of the other big-name free agents on the market are Jake Long, though he's supposedly "hammering out a contract," Ed Reed, Karlos Dansby, Dwight Freeney and Andre Smith.

Quarterback: Ryan Fitzpatrick, who was cut from the Bills, is the biggest name among free agent quarterbacks now that Matt Cassel has signed with the Vikings. Both Jason Campbell and Brian Hoyer are still on the market, as well.

Running back: Most of the top running back free agents have already signed with other teams, including Reggie Bush, Steven Jackson, Shonn Greene and Rashard Mendenhall. Ahmad Bradshaw is now the biggest running back left on the market. He's followed by Michael Turner, Felix Jones and Peyton Hillis.

Wide Receiver: Aside from Jennings, the biggest name free agent receiver on the market is Victor Cruz, who is restricted. Laurent Robinson, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Austin Collie and Randy Moss are still available as well.

Tight End: Fred Davis is the most desirable free agent when it comes to tight ends, but Dustin Keller, Dennis Pitta, Benjamin Watson and Dallas Clark are still available as well.

Interior linemen: While the market is saturated with offensive tackles, the market for interior linemen isn't so hot. Brandon Moore is the top interior offensive lineman on the market at the guard position, and Willie Colon isn't far behind. At center, there's not a lot of players available as some of the only names include Todd McClure and Brad Meester.

Offensive tackles: Aside from Long, who won't be a free agent for much longer, Sebastian Vollmer, Andre Smith, Eric Winston, Jammal Brown and Jason Smith remain on the market.

Defensive linemen: Many of the best pass rushers have already been signed, as Cliff Avril and Michael Johnson are off the market, but Osi Umenyiora, Matt Shaughnessy, John Abraham and Ty Warren are all available defensive ends. Casey Hampton, Alan Branch, Sedrick Ellis and Richard Seymour are all available defensive tackles.

Linebackers: There are several high-end free agent linebackers still available on the market, including Karlos Dansby, Dwight Freeney, Rey Maualuga, Nick Barnett, Daryl Smith, James Harrison and D.J. Williams.

Cornerbacks: Other than Asomugha, Antoine Cason, Chris Gamble, Brent Grimes, DeAngelo Hall and Quentin Jammer are available. Aqib Talib is still on the market. The Patriots and Redskins are reportedly interested. Antoine Winfield turns 36 before the season starts, but he could still help a team in a part-time role.

Safeties: Other than Reed, available safeties include Quintin Mikell, Bernard Pollard, Kerry Rhodes and Adrian Wilson, as well as Jairus Byrd and Patrick Chung.
