Free agent tight end Brandon Myers is set visit with the New York Giants on Saturday, according to the New York Daily News.
Giants rumors: TE Brandon Myers will visit
After losing Martellus Bennett in free agency, the New York Giants will host free agent tight end Brandon Myers on Saturday.
Myers had the best year of his career in 2012, his fourth season with the Oakland Raiders. Myers was targeted 105 times and caught 79 passes for 806 yards and four touchdowns. Myers also converted 41 first downs.
New York recently lost Martellus Bennett to the Chicago Bears through free agency. Bennett was targeted 90 times in 2012, and caught 55 passes for 626 yards and five touchdowns. If the Giants pass on Myers, it seems likely that second-year tight end Adrien Robinson will head into training camp as the starter.
Oakland drafted Myers in the sixth round out of the University of Iowa. Myers appeared in 58 games in his first four seasons with the Raiders, starting 27 of them.
Myers is now the top available tight end with Jared Cook, Delanie Walker and Dustin Keller off the free-agent market.
