Former Ravens free safety and future Hall of Famer Ed Reed has agreed to a new deal with the Houston Texans, per reports.

Reed made his debut with the Ravens in 2002 when the team selected him in the first round out of the University of Miami, the same college as former Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis. Over the last 11 seasons, Reed became the premier ball-hawking safety in the league and has built a résumé worthy of Canton upon his retirement. Reed has made 605 tackles, six sacks, broke up 109 passes and intercepted 61, returning seven for touchdowns.
He is a nine-time Pro Bowler, an eight-time All-Pro, he was the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year and the AFC Defensive Player of the Year in ‘04, and is a two-time NFL Alumni Defensive Back of the Year. He was also named to the NFL All-Decade Team for the 2000s.
According to La Canfora, Reed struggled with the idea of leaving the Ravens, his only team in a career that has spanned longer than a decade. However, the Texans courted him heavily since free agency opened.
The Texans finished the 2012 season with the No. 7-ranked defense and the No. 17-ranked passing defense.
