NFL free agency 2013: Victor Butler visiting Saints, according to report
The linebacker will reportedly make a stop in New Orleans on Thursday.

La Canfora also adds that Butler, who has spent all of his four-year career with the Dallas Cowboys, already paid a visit to the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason. Butler has been a consistent presence in Dallas since getting drafted in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Oregon State, but 2012 was arguably his best season yet.
Playing in all 16 regular-season games, Butler compiled 25 combined tackles -- a career high -- along with three sacks, three forced fumbles and three passes defensed. All of those numbers either tied or set new career-highs in those categories.
In one of the aforementioned Canal Street Chronicles posts, NOLA.com and The Times-Picayune’s Saints beat writer Larry Holder said both sides seem pretty interested in each other and that a deal seems like the next natural step in this relationship, especially with former Cowboys -- now New Orleans -- defensive coordinator Rob Ryan involved. He coached Butler through his two of his four productive NFL campaigns.
