No matter how much trade discussion surrounds Darrelle Revis, New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan insists his star cornerback is not up for grabs. The latest from ESPN's Jane McManus has Ryan saying for the second straight day that there's no truth to Revis trade rumors, and that he believes the star defender will be a Jet next season.
Darrelle Revis trade rumors: Rex Ryan insists Jets aren’t source of talk
The Jets head coach continues to insist that Revis could stay put in New York.

Revis has been the subject of more trade rumors than anyone else this NFL offseason due to his exorbitant contract. The Jets are going to take a major hit to the salary cap either way with a trade this year, but it’s really about getting out of any future obligations to Revis as well as landing significant future assets for his services. The Buccaneers have reportedly offered major picks in 2014, but no deal has been made. And Rex says that’s not happening at all:
“I’ve never had one conversation with anybody about trading any of our players,” Ryan said. “That’s got to obviously go through John [Idzik]. But I will say this: I believe that the Jets, I know and I’ve always said it, we’re not actively looking to trade Darrelle. Wherever this is coming from, I don’t believe it’s coming from the New York Jets. Does that mean he’s going to be traded or not? Hey, that’s just speculation.”
Yet Ryan might have a point. Despite the fact that most NFL analysts believe Revis is good as gone, the Jets did already pay Revis a $1 million roster bonus on March 16 when they could have dealt him before that and saved a bit of change for owner Woody Johnson. Perhaps there’s a chance the team will keep him despite the rumors that say otherwise.
