The market for Washington Redskins free agent tight end Fred Davis has developed slowly with the Cleveland Browns and Redskins as the top potential suitors.
Bills rumors: Fred Davis meets with Buffalo’s top brass
The Bills have entered the market for one of the top free agent tight ends.

But the Buffalo Bills have entered the picture, according to a Adam Schefter. Per Schefter's report, Davis had dinner with members of the Bills front office on Saturday night in Washington. Among those in attendance from the Bills were head coach Doug Marrone, general manager Buddy Nix and assistant general manager Doug Whaley. Schefter also said other Bills officials were present.
After Scott Chandler suffered a torn ACL in the Bills' Week 16 game, the tight end position has been a question mark for them. Of course, Davis had a season ending injury of his own in 2012, suffering a torn achilles back in October. When healthy, Davis has been a productive player for the Redskins and would be a solid addition to the Bills. Before his injury last season, Davis had 325 receiving yards and was coming off a career high 796 receiving yards in 2011.
The Redskins and Browns still figure to be in the mix, but Davis certainly got the full court press from the Bills’ front office, so the market could begin to move quickly for the veteran tight end.
