Arthur Jones, Albert McClellan re-sign with Ravens

The Ravens re-signed both Arthur Jones and Albert McClellan on Wednesday.

The Baltimore Ravens re-signed defensive ends Arthur Jones and Albert McClellan on Wednesday, according to WNST's Luke Jones. Jones, a restricted free agent, signed his tender and McClellan re-signed as an exclusive rights free agent.

Jones was the Ravens' fifth-round pick in the 2010 draft out of Syracuse. He only played in two games in his rookie year, but only missed two games over the last two seasons. In 2012, he made 47 tackles and 4.5 sacks, helping the Ravens' defense on their road to the Super Bowl. In his career he has made 67 tackles and 4.5 sacks.

McClellan was an undrafted free agent out of Marshall and signed with the Ravens in 2010 as a rookie. He didn’t play in 2010, making his debut in 2011. Over the last two seasons, McClellan has made 68 tackles and one sack.

The Ravens came into the 2013 league year in a bad situation when it came to the salary cap. They traded away Anquan Boldin and lost future hall of fame safety Ed Reed in free agency and future hall of fame linebacker Ray Lewis to retirement. The Ravens were able to sign defensive end Elvis Dumervil, but they have lost several of the starters, especially on defense, that helped them win Super Bowl XLVII. Re-signing young guys like Jones and McClellan will go a long way to help rebuild the offense over the next couple of seasons.
