The 2013 league year is three weeks old and even though the big money free agents are off the market, there is plenty of activity on the market and throughout the league.

The NFL 2013 league year is in full swing as we’re well on our way through the third week of free agency. Here’s what you may have missed from Wednesday.
Here’s what you may have missed on Wednesday:
Lions safety Amari Spievey was reportedly arrested on Tuesday and charged with third-degree assault, risk of injury to a child and disorderly conduct after he got in an altercation with his girlfriend about child support for the couple’s 2-year-old daughter.
The Baltimore Ravens signed free-agent safety Michael Huff, formerly of the Oakland Raiders, to a three-year deal. Huff has spent his entire eight years in the league with the Raiders and the Ravens are hoping he will lessen the blow of losing future Hall of Fame free safety Ed Reed, who signed with the Texans as a free agent.
The Carolina Panthers re-signed defensive tackle Dwan Edwards to a one-year deal. The nine-year veteran is coming off his best season in the league and the Panthers are hoping he can apply pressure in the middle of the line while the team's defensive ends rush the passer from the edge. Edwards helped the Panthers reach a top-10 defense in 2012.
Ravens reloaded for another run?
How will the Ravens handle the losses of Anquan Boldin, Ed Reed, Ray Lewis and other key players in the lineup? GM Ozzie Newsome has a plan for that; he always does. On top of signing safety Michael Huff, the Ravens also brought back a two young defensive ends. Arthur Jones, a restricted free-agent defensive end and Albert McClellan, an exclusive rights free agent. Both signed their tenders on Tuesday.
The Houston Texans signed fullback Greg Jones to a one-year deal on Wednesday. Jones will be Arian Foster's new lead blocker. He spent the last few seasons as the lead blocker for another one of the league's top backs, Maurice Jones-Drew. Jones could also serve as a short-yardage back for the Texans.
The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly going to sign free-agent safety Will Allen, formerly of the Pittsburgh Steelers, to help fill the void left when they released Gerald Sensabaugh. Allen cracked the starting lineup for the Steelers in 2012 when the team benched Ryan Mundy.
The San Diego Chargers are going to release left tackle Jared Gaither even though there will be $6 million of dead money on the salary cap that will come with the decision to let him go. Gaither was signed by the Chargers on a four-year deal worth $24.6 million, but he only started in five games in 2011 and only played in four games in 2012.
Free-agent pass-rusher Dwight Freeney is reportedly looking for a deal worth $6 million per year. The defensive end/outside linebacker has become one of the most prolific pass rushers over the last 11 years and is a seven-time Pro Bowler. A few teams have shown interest in Freeney, but he has yet to reach a deal with anyone.
USC’s Pro Day was on Wednesday and teams got another look at quarterback prospect Matt Barkley, who hasn’t thrown a football since his shoulder injury before the final regular-season game in 2012. Barkley threw 62 scripted passes for scouts. Throwing into the wind, Barkley completed most of his passes, including deep passes and outs, which require the most arm strength. He likely raised his draft stock in the process.
