Former New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw could soon come to an agreement with the Steelers, as he was in Pittsburgh getting a physical with the team on Thursday, according to NFL.com's Dan Hanzus. If Bradshaw's physical is all clear, the Steelers will likely try to sign the free-agent running back, according to sources.

Bradshaw was a seventh-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft by the Giants and has seen his fair share of individual success, along with two Super Bowl rings, while with the team. Bradshaw has carried the ball 921 times for a total of 4,232 yards and 32 touchdowns. He had an average of 4.6 yards per carry but also only averaged 11 carries per game in his six seasons with the Giants. Bradshaw's best two seasons came in 2012 and 2010 when he carried the ball a combined 497 times for 2,250 yards (1,235 yards in 2010 and 1,015 yards in 2012) and a total of 14 touchdowns.
The Steelers struggled in 2012, as it was one of the few years they didn't find themselves in the playoffs. The offensive line struggled to protect Ben Roethlisberger, and the running game floundered. The signing of a back of Bradshaw's quality would give the team a player it could once again establish a running game behind, which has long been the staple of the Steelers' offense.
