Mike Jenkins rumors: CB will visit Bills, Raiders

Free agent cornerback Mike Jenkins is seeking a multi-year deal, and after having visited Jacksonville on Friday, he’s said to have visits set up with Oakland and Buffalo.

Free agent cornerback Mike Jenkins is going to make absolutely sure he gets the best deal possible from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

According to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter, Jenkins, formerly with the Cowboys, will visit the Raiders and Bills after he visited the Jaguars Friday.

Big Cat Country editor Alfie Crow wrote Jenkins could be making other visits to see if he could top any offer he may have received from Jacksonville.

Jenkins, a first-round pick of the Cowboys in 2008, hasn’t been a big target in free agency, and with the cap-strapped Cowboys having signed linebacker Justin Durant and safety Will Allen this offseason, they don’t seem all that interested in retaining Jenkins.

The Raiders are in the process of working out a solution to their quarterback situation, which could lead to either the trade or release of Carson Palmer. They're allegedly working on an exchange with Seattle of QB Matt Flynn for draft picks, and Arizona is said to be a potential trade partner for Palmer.

Buffalo has been quiet in free agency one year after landing top prize defensive end Mario Williams. Buffalo Rumblings' Brian Galliford writes the Bills "have plenty of question marks at cornerback" even after giving a four-year, $17 million extension to Jenkins' fellow 2008 draft classmate Leodis McKelvin. He speculates Jenkins could be brought in to cover the slot.
