A trade that would send Carson Palmer from the Raiders to the Cardinals has reportedly hit a snag, casting doubt on whether a deal will get done at all.

The Raiders and the Cardinals were assumed to be finalizing the terms of the trade. Palmer was expected to be traded on the condition that he take a pay-cut down to $8 million from the roughly $13 million he was expected to make in Oakland this season. The Cardinals even released John Skelton to make room.
La Canfora reports that the terms of the restructured contract are currently holding up negotiations, but that the Cardinals and Raiders are pushing towards getting a deal done. Both team teams have a vested interest in getting the deal settled, as the Raiders want to get Palmer’s contract off the books and the Cardinals want a starting quarterback. At this moment, however, it isn’t entirely clear that the trade is going to go through.
