After several straight weeks of news, the NFL experienced a slow day on Saturday. There wasn’t a whole lot to report on and that will probably be the case many more times prior to the 2013 NFL Draft actually getting underway on April 25.

Restricted free agent Chris Ivory visited with the New York Jets on Saturday, while Ben Roethlisberger campaigned for Emmanuel Sanders to remain with the team.
In fact, the most pertinent news of Saturday revolved around a pair of restricted free agents, which is a rarity in the NFL. We rarely ever see movement with restricted free agents, but with one already signed to an offer sheet and another making a visit on Saturday, the news is picking up.
Let’s take a look at what went down Saturday.
Roethlisberger wants Sanders around
The Pittsburgh Steelers haven't matched the offer sheet that wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders signed with the New England Patriots. On Saturday, reports came out that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was lobbying head coach Mike Tomlin to get the team to match the one-year, $2.5 million offer sheet. It makes sense that Roethlisberger would want consistency among his wide receivers after the team lost top target Mike Wallace to free agency.
Ivory visits with Jets
It's an odd thing to see activity in restricted free agency, but that's what's going down this year. New Orleans Saints running back Chris Ivory visited with the New York Jets, it was reported on Saturday. There's no word on whether or not the Jets intend to sign Ivory to an offer sheet, but it could be a solid indicator of the relatively weak draft class at running back.
Winfield takes less guaranteed money to be with Seattle
Antoine Winfield signed with the Seattle Seahawks on Friday, but on Saturday, NFL.com reported that he actually chose Seattle over getting more guaranteed money with the Minnesota Vikings. Seattle gave him a one-year, $3 million contract, with $1 million guaranteed. Minnesota reportedly offered more, but Winfield went with Seattle, who seems in a better position to win a Super Bowl.
