Free-agent wide receiver and kick returner Josh Cribbs will re-take a physical with the Arizona Cardinals after the 2013 NFL Draft, according to FOX Sports.

Former Cleveland Browns wide receiver and return specialist Josh Cribbs plans to re-take a physical with the Arizona Cardinals shortly after the NFL Draft.

Cribbs visited Arizona shortly after free agency opened in mid-March, but did not receive a contract from the Cardinals after his visit. The New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers were also interested in Cribbs, but both teams moved on, with the Patriots signing Leon Washington.
Arizona gave Cribbs a physical during his visit, but Cribbs’ knee wasn’t 100 percent. Cribbs underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus, and isn’t expected to be fully recovered until after the NFL Draft. Once Cribbs proves his knee is healthy, the Cardinals are expected to sign Cleveland’s former return ace.
Cribbs spent the first eight years of his professional career with the Browns and was the most dynamic kick returner in Cleveland franchise history. During his time with the Browns, Cribbs returned eight kickoffs for touchdowns, tied for the NFL all-time record, and returned three punts for touchdowns, to go along with 10,015 kickoff return yards and 2,154 punt return yards.
The 2009 season was Cribbs’ most explosive, as the former Kent State receiver returned three of his 56 kickoff returns for touchdowns. Cribbs hasn’t returned a kickoff for a touchdown since.
If the Cardinals do sign Cribbs, new head coach Bruce Arians could give him an extensive look at wide receiver during training camp. Cleveland gave Cribbs an increased offensive role in 2011, when he caught a career-high 41 passes for 518 yards and four touchdowns.
