The New York Jets and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have already agreed to a trade sending cornerback Darrelle Revis to Florida, according to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports. The deal, which has seemingly been a long time coming, could be finalized as soon as Sunday night.
Darrelle Revis trade rumors: Jets and Buccaneers deal to be finalized soon, per report
The long-teased trade sending Darrelle Revis from the Jets to the Buccaneers may finally come to pass, according to a report.
Cole reports that terms of the deal are still being hammered out. The Jets have been asking a high price for Revis throughout the offseason--too high for some--which likely includes the Bucs’ first-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft at No. 13 overall.
The Bucs are in desperate need of secondary help after finishing dead last in the NFL in passing yards allowed last season. They signed safety Dashon Goldson away from the San Francisco 49ers earlier this offseason to also shore things up in the defensive backfield.
The trade would come just before the start of the NFL Draft on Thursday. The Jets are reportedly looking to stockpile picks, and this deal would certainly help them do that. The Jets are also looking to trade out of the No. 9 overall spot.
