New York attorney general Eric Schneiderman is set to meet with the NFL on Tuesday regarding questions asked of draft prospects at the NFL Scouting Combine in February, according to Mike Freeman of CBS Sports. Namely, there were reports of players being asked questions regarding their sexual orientation, with some prospects claiming it went as far as them being asked, “Do you like girls?”

The New York attorney general’s office will meet with NFL officials over questions reportedly asked of draft prospects at the NFL Scouting Combine regarding sexual orientation.

The NFL recently announced that it finished conducting an internal investigation into the controversy, but that no specific violations were found. Schneiderman initially sent this letter to the league and the meeting is the next step in his own investigation.
According to the report, neither Schneiderman nor NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will take part in the Tuesday meeting, but senior staffers from both offices will take part. It’s likely that the attorney general’s office will urge the NFL to reveal how it conducted its investigation and how it plans to prevent this kind of thing from happening in the future, regardless of whether or not it did actually happen this year.
Asking a player about his sexual orientation is against various laws on the federal and state levels, but also against the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement.
