New Orleans Saints re-sign center Brian De La Puente
The Saints have re-signed restricted free agent center Brian De La Puente to a one-year deal.

De La Puente joined the Saints in 2010 and became their starting center early in the 2011 season. Last season he started all 16 games for New Orleans and ranked as the No. 2 center in the NFL according to Pro Football Focus. With De La Puente at center, the Saints allowed the third-fewest sacks in the league and ranked second in total yards in 2012.
The 6’3, 306-pound, 27-year-old center was undrafted out of California in 2008 and bounced around practice squads before finding a home on the Saints’ active roster in 2011. If De La Puente can put together a third-straight strong year he should become a hot commodity on the free agent market in 2014 and should receive a significant raise.
