Oakland Raiders will work out Seneca Wallace, according to report

Free agent quarterback Seneca Wallace will visit with the Oakland Raiders on Wednesday.

The Oakland Raiders will work out free agent quarterback Seneca Wallace on Wednesday according to Adam Schefter. Wallace was not in the NFL in 2012 after being cut by the Cleveland Browns in preseason.

Wallace was one of four quarterbacks the Seattle Seahawks worked out this week as they search for a backup for Russell Wilson, but he may stand a better chance of making the roster in Oakland. The Raiders only have two quarterbacks on the roster right now: Matt Flynn, who they acquired from the Seahawks, and Terrelle Pryor. Flynn has the inside track on the starting job, but Pryor is expected to get a shot during the preseason. Oakland will bring in at least one more quarterback during training camp and preseason.

The Seahawks drafted Wallace in the fourth round of the 2003 NFL Draft out of Iowa State, but he didn’t make his NFL debut until 2005. He started four games at quarterback for the Seahawks in 2006 and eight more in 2008. In 2010, he signed with the Browns, where he served as backup quarterback for two seasons.
