The Chiefs continued a busy week, hiring Chris Ballard as director of player personnel, according to Brad Biggs. Ballard was the director of pro personnel for the Bears but received a promotion to head to Kansas City and join John Dorsey and Andy Reid. He will be in charge of professional and college scouting for the Chiefs.
Chiefs hire Bears’ Chris Ballard as director of player personnel
After spending 11 years with the Bears, Ballard will head south to Kansas City to take a promotion and work with John Dorsey.

Ballard was viewed as one of the up and coming members of Chicago’s front office after spending the last 12 years with the team. He was promoted to director of pro personnel with the Bears after spending 11 years as an area scout.
Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Turks, who both served as assistant directors of pro scouting for the Bears last year, are considered the primary candidates to fill Ballard’s shoes should Chicago opt to hire from within. With all of the movement in NFL front offices, though, the Bears could find a qualified candidate from outside of the organization as well.
