The New York Jets need offensive playmakers. Emmanuel Arceneaux won't be part of the team's plans next season, however. Adam Caplan reported Tuesday that the wide receiver has been waived.
Jets waive WR Emmanuel Arceneaux
Former CFL star Emmanuel Arceneaux was waived after just five months with the Jets.

Arceneaux had just one reception for 10 yards in two seasons in the NFL. He was held without a reception last season after going to the Washington Redskins from the Minnesota Vikings. Arceneaux was signed by the Jets in January. The Vikings signed Arceneaux to a three-year contract in 2011, after he spent two seasons in the CFL.
Arceneaux was a star in Canada. He had 63 receptions for 858 yards and seven touchdowns for the B.C. Lions as a rookie out of Alcorn State in 2009. In 2010, he racked up 1,114 yards and five touchdowns off 67 receptions. Arceneaux appeared to have the potential to be a contributor in the NFL, but never found traction.
The Jets will roll into OTAs with Santonio Holmes, Stephen Hill, Jeremy Kerley, and Clyde Gates atop the wide receiver depth chart.
