Titus Young arrested twice in 15-hour span

Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young was arrested twice on Sunday: once for suspicion of driving under the influence and another for burglary when he tried to steal back his car from a towing yard.

Former Detroit Lions wide receiver and current free agent Titus Young was arrested on Sunday ... twice. According to Paula Pasche of The Oakland Press, Young was first stopped at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday after making an illegal left turn in front of a patrol car.

Young was then arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence, was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center, issued a citation and released from custody.

That’s the point in which most people would call it a bad day, write off their losses and move on. Not Young, as he got himself into trouble hours later, this time in the middle of the day. Officers responded to a tow company yard, where a man was seen jumping over the fence, at 2:22 p.m.

Of course, it was Young, trying to find his black Mustang. He was arrested for burglary and taken to the same detention center he was booked at that morning. There’s some mug shots over at the source link, which plainly resonate, “Well .. that happened.”

At this point, the chances of Young finding another NFL team seem slim. The Lions released him after a myriad of incidents, including him being sent home from practice more than once. One time was due to a sucker punch he gave safety Louis Delmas. He's a rare case of intentionally sabotaging himself on the field as well, as he intentionally lined up in the wrong spots in a game on Nov. 18.

A return to the NFL would likely only come after some serious counseling of some kind, and possibly even some form of rehab. Young is considered a talented receiver, and he’s plenty young enough to make an impact on some rosters in the league. He just can’t get his head on straight.
