Tim Tebow signs with Patriots: Twitter fans react

Bill Belichick and the Patriots made the surprise move to sign Tim Tebow, and football fans around Twitter reacted exactly as you’d imagine.

Last year the New York Jets tried to run a two-quarterback system with disastrous results. Signing Tim Tebow brought more storylines than wins -- and the team now looks to move forward with Geno Smith. However, the Patriots aren't the Jets, and Tom Brady is no Mark Sanchez. Let's take a look around Twitter to see what public perception of the move is.

The first reactions on Twitter are often emotion-filled, but it’s the kind of raw human experience that tugs at the heartstrings.

Most football fans were jumping around in glee, sharing the same tear-streamed face. For most, however, it was because that Tebow wasn’t joining their team. Not many locker rooms could contain the media circus.

What does a manger in the Philippines look like anyway? More importantly, what animals are housed there?

Sadly, it wasn’t all teary jubilation that Tebow was joining Belichick’s team.

There were jokes about the Jets’ games too, plenty of them.

There were also some choice theories that turned Belichick into a super villain.

The media, on the other hand were looking at the move with curiosity. Public consensus seems to be that he’ll change positions, but early reports refute the idea.
