Chris Johnson impressing at Titans OTAs

Despite a lackluster start to 2012, the Titans RB is making waves early in OTAs.

Chis Johnson of the Tennessee Titans started slowly last year, rushing for just 45 yards in the first three games of 2012 -- but it appears he wont be as sluggish out of the gate in 2013. Johnson is turning heads early in OTAs, according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.

The lack of production early in the season didn't phase Johnson, as he still finished with 1,243 rushing yards -- the third-most of his career. The Titans wanted to ensure his life was easier, however, as they signed guard Andy Levitre and selected Chance Warmack with the 10th pick in the 2013 draft. The two blockers will open larger holes than Johnson has seen in the past, and based on his appearance in OTAs, should mean for a potent ground game this season.

Having Johnson at full-strength is vital to the team's offensive hopes in 2013. Quarterback Jake Locker is entering a defining year, one where he'll need to prove he can be the future of the passing game in Tennessee. The team signed free agent Ryan Fitzpatrick less than one week after being released by the Buffalo Bills, meaning the rope will be short for Locker entering his third season.
